In April 2019, the White House officially announced that the month of April would be known as Second Chance Month. ReEntry Services programs across the country proudly celebrated the event’s first annual installment.
Approximately 1 in 3 adults in the United States have a criminal record. But even after paying their debt to society, many of these individuals are imprisoned by a lack of second chances. Organizations, like ReEntry Services, go the extra mile to help former inmates turn their lives around. During Second Chance Month, programs across the country call attention to this issue by advocating for these individuals. This year, GTL signed the Society for Human Resource Management’s Getting Talent Back to Work pledge to consider all qualified candidates — regardless of their criminal history.
GTL is a leading organization in corrections technology that aims to improve outcomes for incarcerated individuals and facilities. The company’s support of Second Chance Month is a major leap in proving that everyone deserves a second chance at a better life!
