A series of motivational and encouraging videos posted on a U.S. Army Facebook page were met with criticism.  The complaints were directed at the prayers highlighted in these videos.  While the faith-focused videos intended to spread encouragement during the COVID-19 pandemic, not every viewer was in support of the sentiment.

Mikey Weinstein, founder and president of The Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF) was perhaps the loudest voice to disagree with the videos.  In protest, MRFF filed formal complaints with the Army’s 10th Mountain Division Sustainment Brigade.  For a foundation that claims to advocate for religious freedom, the organization has been known to silence faith-based messages.  In 2019, the foundation was responsible for the removal of a WWII era Bible at a VA hospital in Manchester, NH.
