Information Technology in the United States Army
The United States Army is looking to expand its enterprise IT program as a service. Veteran, Heather Jackson discusses what this could mean in terms of potential roles and job opportunities for currently serving personnel:
Information Technology (IT) roles have been a staple in the US Army since the inception of personal computers. Arguably, that statement could even fall back further into the past, as the military has always been on the cutting edge of technology advancements over the years. Now, the United States Army is looking to expand their already existing enterprise IT office, as a service.
The US Army’s Program Executive Office for Enterprise Information Systems will dive deeper into the IT industry. The program, along with Army Network Enterprise Technology Command, has remarked that they are considering operating IT as a service within the US Army. However, nothing is currently set in stone. Even still, this could make or break job opportunities for US Army members, present and future.
